As the seasons change to spring and then into summer the Toccoa River really begins to shine with an abundance of insect hatches. The Toccoa River has a very good population of brown and rainbow trout and this provides a great opportunity for some exceptional dry fly fishing during this time of the year. The Lower Toccoa River is a tailwater stream and provides outstanding fishing year around. With a constant flow from Blue Ridge Lake maintained by the TVA it provides nutrient rich water to rank it as one of the best tailwater fisheries in the Southeast. Sweetwater Anglers offers daily fly fishing rates, fly fishing vacations or group packages on the Toccoa River.
